A survey by the Department of Telecom has revealed that around 62 percent of the mobile subscribes are still facing the call drop problem.

Telecom companies had sometime claimed that there was a significant reduction in the call drop rate.
A DoT statement said that about 1,38,072 of the 2,20,935 subscribers who participated in the survey reported call drops.

The survey, which was conducted between December 23, 2016 and February 28, 2017, sought direct feedback from subscribers by automated call service.

Over 16.61 lakh calls to subscribers of all telecom service providers were made by Integrated Voice Response System during the survey, said a PTI report.

The telecom department shares these feedbacks from the consumers with telecom companies so that they can take action.

A total of 9,328 cases have been resolved by telecoms since IVRS initiative.
